The Smallworlds Forum is one of the largest sources of information here at Smallworlds. This article is just a brief overview on what the Smallworlds Forum is. Please read this guide carefully to gain basic knowledge of the Smallworlds forums and how to operate it correctly. This article will be in sectors so I have underlined the start of each section.
Registration?
All you need to have is a smallworlds account to be able to access the forum, once you create an account on Smallworlds it automatically makes you a member on the forum, which is quite useful. You can access the forum via www.smallworlds.com/forum/ or at the top of your page if your logged onto your profile or in-world via (community->forum)
Searching?
Lost a thread, trying to find an answer to a question or just roaming? It is quite easy to operate the search module follow these simple steps to resolve your issue. Go into the the index of the forum -> if you are wanting to use the simple search continue to use the box if you would like to proceed to the advanced search module click the little blue arrow. You should be redirected to a search module, please fill in the fields provided using your own common sense fill in the fields which you think will be efficent and help you find the topic.
Moderation?
There is a variety of Smallworlds Forum Moderators who keep the forum running smooth. Without them the forum would be a mess. To identify a Smallworlds moderator under their username they should be labelled as “Smallworlds Moderator” and their name should end in “Team-SW.” The forum moderators follow by the code of conduct. If your thread had a lock icon aside it this means your thread has been locked and violates the forum rules, a moderator will have wrote something in your existing post or below it. If you violate the code of conduct numerous times sadly the forum moderators may ban your for a certain time period or it can be possible forever, However, this does not mean your in-world account has been banned. Please ensure you follow the code of conduct at all time.
Categories?
The Smallworlds Forum has 25 categories to choose from - if you are wanting to create a thread ensure you post it in the correct thread otherwise it will be moved by a moderator. Most of the categories have a brief description on what articles should be based on, if not then it must be quite obvious in the name what should be in there. The staff have kindly provided us with a “Off-World Discussion” Category which is an unmoderated area and should be treat with respect and the Smallworlds Community should keep it clean. The categories are all un-related from each other and are unique in their own way.
I hope this guide is helpful for those who are new to the forums or someone who is struggling to function the forums then hopefully this guide is the key!
Until Next Time,
Spike XOXO
